Senior Growth Operations Manager
Samsara, Inc.

At Haas I went from recognizing the tech buzzwords to really understanding what they meant and why the concepts matter.

Being co-lead of the Haas Tech Challenge brought together my urban planning background and the tech savvy I was developing at Haas. We partnered with Amazon in a challenge all about the design of smart cities.

Professor Molly Turner’s class, Tech & the City: How to Get Urban Innovation Right, was on my radar from the moment I applied. The industry experts from urban innovation startups, as well as established disruptors like Uber and Airbnb—where Professor Turner worked—along with city officials, venture capitalists, and nonprofit leaders gave us a real-world, urban-focused view of what disruption can mean and how to harness it.

A Job that Speaks to You

The Career Management Group really is committed to helping students find the job that suits you best. It’s not about hitting recruitment numbers; it’s about wanting you to succeed.

The number and variety of people from the tech sector I met at Haas—guest speakers, classmates, professors—really helped me on my career journey.

A Company Culture that Resonates

Samsara came to campus for a Tech Networking Night. I clicked right away with the people. Their culture really echoed the Haas Defining Leadership Principles. When a role opened up, it was an obvious choice to apply.

At companies like Samsara, leadership is not about fitting into a hierarchical role. It’s about driving toward a shared goal on a team with people at all levels of the company. That concept of shared ownership is something I honed at Haas.

Open-Ended ROI

When you calculate the ROI of your MBA studies, it would be a mistake to measure it just over the two years after graduation. The real ROI is in the meaningful relationships, the self-knowledge, and personal growth you have gained.

I came to business school with a really open mind about where my career would lead me. Being at a top-notch business school gave me an open-ended degree rather than focusing on a single discipline.
