Joe Wadcan's IBD experience consulting an eye-care start-up in Mexico City introduced him to a new part of the world—Latin America—and an industry sector—health care—that were both unfamiliar to him. That is the kind of horizon-expanding experience that he knew the Berkeley MBA Program could provide.

"The diversity of backgrounds among my classmates adds a dose of reality to our discussions. I can find an expert in almost anything among my classmates."

"The idea of going Beyond Yourself became real to me in my work with Durationator, a Lousiana start-up. I was one of a team of eight who spent a month working on marketing and pricing strategies for this start-up. Then we spent a week working on-site in New Orleans. Seeing the city, its business, and its citizens struggle back from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, was inspiring."

"Competing in the Venture Capital Investment Competition allowed me to take what I learned in the classroom and apply it in a concrete way. The critiques I received from the judges were invaluable."

"I wouldn't trade the Berkeley Haas culture for anything. People here are humble, down-to-earth, passionate, and amazingly talented."
