Hey Alumni! We need your help attracting the best and the brightest professionals to Haas. Help us by sharing your personal experience and knowledge of Haas:

  • Interview prospective students in cities across the U.S. and internationally
  • Serve as a resource for prospective applicants at MBA fair events
  • Share your experience at information sessions for prospective MBA students
  • Make congratulatory phone calls to newly admitted students
  • Attend dinners or host happy hours to welcome newly admitted students

What is the MBA WAVE?

The MBA Worldwide Admissions Volunteer Effort (WAVE) is a network of alumni who promote the advantages of a Haas education, as well as identify and encourage prospective students whose personalities, needs, and goals are a good fit for the Berkeley MBA Program.

Time Commitment

MBA WAVE members assist admissions with one or more of the activities listed on the timeline below. The Admissions Office may contact MBA WAVE members regarding availability for interviewing prospective students. All interviews take place between December and June. On average, interviewers will conduct 3-5 interviews, but there is also a chance that you may not conduct any interviews.

MBA Forum A "fair event" with a number of top business schools attending. September-November
Berkeley MBA Information Session A formal presentation which showcases the benefits of the Haas MBA Program. No other universities will be present. When possible, the presentation will include an alumni/student panel. September- December
Interview Applicants Outside of the Bay Area only. December- June
Congratulatory Phone Calls Phone 2 - 10 newly admitted students Feb 12 - 16* April 2 - 6*
May 14 - 18*
May 28 - June 1*
(tentative for 2007)
Dinners/Happy Hours Encourage newly admitted students to accept

Connection between the "Haas Alumni Network" and MBA WAVE

MBA WAVE is an integral part of the Haas Alumni Network. Members of the MBA WAVE will be participating in the larger network of alumni chapter activities. The MBA WAVE is an active volunteer committee within regional alumni chapters, and is an integrated part of alumni outreach efforts.
