Developing a business plan for a niche market in the Indian wedding industry certainly wasn't on Jara Maria Herrero Ramos's mind when she applied to Haas. But she knew that Haas would introduce her to lots of new ideas and opportunities. Now, she and her Entrepreneurship class teammates are hoping to convince a VC that their idea is an opportunity.

A Culture of Innovation

"My previous education was in a very traditional setting. Haas teaches the traditional subjects, but in a very innovative way. People toss around the craziest ideas. Everyone is open to the next breakthrough."

Core Fundamentals

"The core courses go straight to the most important issues. In eight weeks you cover all of the main concepts, not just through the textbook, but also from current affairs."

Learning from Mistakes

"It's just as important to learn why and how companies with good technology ideas have failed as to learn about those that succeed."

Diversity at Haas

"I've been especially impressed with the warmth of the Latin American and Hispanic Business Association community. The second-year students have been really supportive, always available for advice."

Marketing Yourself

"The Career Center helped me develop a marketing plan for myself. As a career switcher, they helped me understand how to leverage my past experience relative to my career goals."
